October 25th, 2020

Dear Dreamers and families,

At Street of Dreams we take great pride in ourselves in standing strong with all of you in our community, persevering through trial since March and handling all adversities that have come our way this crazy 2020.

We are super grateful for all our dreamers and dedicated staff to always push through any obstacle. One thing we wish we would have planned for, is weeks reserved in our season for studio maintenance. We have been working on a schedule to have a maintenance week to deep sanitize, deep clean, re-tape the floors, change filters, improve zoom technology, and more than our normal Safer Studio cleaning regimens. Gratefully, Street of Dreams operates seven days a week, and we did not want to take away any in person learning from just one day of dreamers.

With that being said, we are sure it will not come to a surprise with our rising numbers, along with schools, that we have became aware of two dreamers that have tested positive for COVID-19, along with a few dreamers out due to someone in their household has tested positive and needing to quarantine. These Dreamers started showing symptoms Wednesday and did not come to Street of Dreams. The dreamers were tested Thursday and Friday and the results were reported this weekend. Although we have our Safer Studio Guidelines always in place, and feel confident in our procedures we are responsible to let those dreamers know that may have been encountered. At the time of this email, those close contacts have all been called/notified and everything has been handled to continue to follow our Safer Studio Guidelines. If your child does not qualify as a close contact, you will have not heard from us at this time. Thank you for understanding Street of Dreams privacy policy on this matter.

We want to protect the confidentiality of our dreamers as well as our families dealing with absences due to family members with Covid-19. We are moving forward under the guidance of the Will County Health Department and IDPH.

All measures have been taken to protect the wellbeing of your dreamers. Moving forward into the week of: October 26th-31st, we feel it is necessary to make our maintenance week happen sooner than later. We have an appointment made with our professional sanitation company this week, along with a tech specialist to improve our online class experience. We want to make sure our dreamers have a safe and clean environment to come back to for in-person classes on Monday Nov. 2nd. This week only, we will be moving to our yellow signal and will have classes online. We assure you we will not plan on going virtual completely unless the state mandates it again, but we may schedule another maintenance cleaning week if we feel that may be needed in the winter months ahead.

We realize it is our Halloween Week so we would love to continue to show our Halloween spirit and show up in your classes online dressed and ready to have some Halloween Fun with your favorite SOD teachers! We would like to also extend this opportunity to have Bring Your Bestie to your online class and enjoy the fun with us! Maybe you have a neighbor, a friend, or a family member who is a little hesitant to come in for classes; this is a perfect time to introduce them to SOD and show them why you LOVE it! We will have some fun partner activities and Halloween Dances to share! Costume Contest for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes will be announced on Nov 3rd!

If you do not want to participate this week virtually, feel free to email the studio at info.streetofdreams@gmail.com for help scheduling your make up class with any other class in your age/level starting next week. This might be a great time to try another style your dreamer has been wanting to try!

Encrypted in the Street of Dreams DNA, we are not letting anything stop us from what we love to do most...DANCE! We will be sending your class links on Monday with any instructions you may need to have the best online Halloween Week with us!

As a precaution for your safety, please always monitor for onset of symptoms related to COVID-19. Please be in prayer for our studio community for grace, peace, and healing as we work together during this time to serve all those involved. Thank you again for always believing in Street of Dreams and trusting us with your dreamers!

With love,

Rachelle Ochsner and the Street of Dreams Faculty
